Dr. David Tayloe, Director
The Capstone Song Initiative is an annual concert promoting the collaboration between composer and performer. Students and Faculty perform exciting new works by living composers, set to modern texts. The Capstone Song Initiative seeks to explore the soundscape, language, and diverse writing styles of our modern day composers. Each concert features a work written specifically for this event, where the performer is in direct contact with the composer and forms collaboration within the compositional process.
Year Three: WE ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE that this year, the Capstone Song Initiative will welcome renowned composer Libby Larsen to UA. Ms. Larsen will be in residence at Alabama April 9 and 10, 2019. Watch this space and our social media pages for details of concerts and master classes.
