Dr. David Tayloe, Director
The Capstone Song Initiative is an annual concert promoting the collaboration between composer and performer. Students and Faculty perform exciting new works by living composers, set to modern texts. The Capstone Song Initiative seeks to explore the soundscape, language, and diverse writing styles of our modern day composers. Each concert features a work written specifically for this event, where the performer is in direct contact with the composer and forms collaboration within the compositional process.
The next performance comes in the Fall of 2017, with an exciting new work for Tenor and piano, the premiere of more song from Linda Lister’s Flags: Summer of 2015 written for Dr. Paul Houghtaling, and additional student and faculty performances! Join us for the wonderful celebration of SONG and watch this page for more details!
